Visa fees

Please check that your passport has a minimum of 6 months validity from the date of their return date. For countries such as South Africa and Namibia you must have a minimum of 2 clear pages in your visa pages, plus additional clear pages for any other countries that you may be visiting as part of your itinerary. In East Africa the requirement is one clear page per country. It is your responsibility to check and confirm these requirements with the Embassy as conditions can change. Anyone travelling on a non-British passport should take particular care as visa requirements may be different and it is essential that the passport contains the correct visas. Please check with the Embassy what the requirements are.

South Africa, Namibia and Botswana currently issue free tourist visas (Sept 2012) on arrival for visits of up to 90 days. Zambia, Zimbabwe,  Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and Kenya Visas can be purchased on arrival and paid for in US Dollars. Mozambique have recently announced that they will no longer issue visas on arrival and must be arranged prior to travel through your local Embassy. (Feb 2013)

Please note that visa entry fees for Zambia are as follows; Single entry US$50, Double entry US$80 please note this is per passport. If you intend to purchase a visa on arrival in any of the countries mentioned, please ensure that you have the right amount and that the notes are reasonably new.

Alternatively you can pre purchase the visas from the relevant Embassy. Allow a minimum of at least a week for postal applications, the application forms can be downloaded from the Embassy’s website or visit our Frequently Asked Questions page for links to various embassies.

With the launch of the pilot KAZA Visa, tourists will only need one visa to visit both Zambia and Zimbabwe. This way, they can save time and money. The pilot KAZA Visa will cost US$50 and last for up to  30 days. It will be available to citizens of 40 countries, which coincide with those who are eligible to  receive Visas on arrival in both Zambia and Zimbabwe.
